G H Hurt and Son

Ivory White Leaves and Flowers - Baby Blanket / Shawl

  • The exquisitely detailed Leaves and Flowers design is woven from the softest 100% Merino wool and finished with a delicate shell-stitched edging. Wonderfully warm and feather-light, with a finer thread and tighter weave than our other GH Hurt shawls, it is the perfect to wrap for your little one. Each beautifully lined shawl takes three days to produce, master-crafted by eight pairs of skilled hands using traditional techniques at the GH Hurt and Son factory in Nottingham, England.

    • Dimensions: 118 x 114cm
    • Material: 100% pure Merino wool
    • Cool hand wash and dry flat. Not suitable for machine wash/dry.

  • Care Instructions

All shawls are supplied pre-washed using gentle products suitable for sensitive skin, and are ready for immediate use.

Due to the nature of the fine quality yarns, please wash by hand in water not above 30 degrees in temperature and dry flat, away from direct sunlight.

Scalloped edges will naturally relax after washing. This is normal and does not deter from the quality of the product. For a perfect finish, simply pin out the scalloped edges, cover with a cloth and press with a cool iron.

Do not machine wash under any circumstance - even "hand wash" or "fragile" cycles are not appropriate - as the spinning action of the machine's drum will cause felting the fine lacy-knitted fabric.

“GHG. H. Hurt & Son have been makers of the finest lace knitwear for over a century. Made in Nottingham England and evoking the Orenburg and Shetland styles, these blankets will be handed down through the generations as treasured heirlooms.

Using crafts and techniques that are 400 years old, G.H Hurt & Son blankets are the work of artisan crafters overseen by a 4th generation master knitter. Their delicate and soft shawls are made from the finest fibres, including Australian merino wool, and are still sometimes knitted using their collection of vintage handframe machines.
